Learning About Jesus With Resurrection Eggs

Resurrection Eggs are one of my favorite Easter purchases ever. I love finding products that help  kids learn in a way that is     engaging and unique.         

Resurrections Eggs do just that while teaching kids about Jesus. I mentioned these in my Easter shopping guide post, but I wanted to show these a bit more. 

What are Resurrection Eggs?

Resurrection Eggs are 12 plastic Easter eggs in a plastic carton, a booklet and each egg has an item that will help work the story of Jesus' last days and resurrection. The booklet breaks the story into parts for each egg and has prompts/questions for each part. There are also tips for talking about Jesus with children. 

We have had ours for years and everything has held up very well. It is a great addition to any Easter celebration.

The eggs contain: a donkey, coins, cup, praying hands, leather whip, crown of thorns, nail cross, die, spear, linen cloth, and stone. The final egg is empty.

On My Book Shelf: She's Come Undone By Wally Lamb

      She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb was an Oprah's Book Club selection way back in 1996. Fortunately, this book is timeless. It's a coming of age tale that is filled with trauma and the struggle of finding your own place in the world.

       I had a difficult time relating to Dolores, the main character, for the first few chapters. Even though I empathized with Dolores, I couldn't relate to her responses to situations. That changed with her first marriage. Something about her relationship and husband felt familiar to me. From that point going forward I felt a little more invested in her character. Prior to that I would sometimes feel like she was making things harder on herself and found myself cringing throughout the book. I wanted her to find her own path and be fulfilled. 

        It is a very well written book. Dolores is a unique character with a somewhat tragic story. It doesn't have a super happy, Hallmark movie ending. Don't worry--you won't be in tears either. It is more about acceptance and finding peace. 

      I listened to the audio book and the narrator was good. (Occasionally I can't listen to audio books because of the voice reading it.) I liked this book enough that the next book on my "shelf" is another Wally Lamb.

Printable Girl Scout Cookie Sales Tracker

This will be the third year my daughter has been in a troop and participated in selling cookies. Like many parents, I have a sort of love/hate relationship with fundraising. I never take for granted that our school does not have fundraiser sales. So she is only out there hustling cookies.  On a positive note, the cookies are delicious and the girls do get to have their money returned to them for fun activities. 

So this cookie sale tracker is for Girl Scout leaders, mommas, poppas, aunties or whoever is out there raising a cookie dealer 🍪

I found other trackers to have some pretty big goals. I felt like 25 on a page felt obtainable and you can always print more. We keep ours on the fridge and print another when the first is filled.
