Happy Friday 2017 #6

I have to start with a serious topic that I need to get off my chest. The fun stuff follows.

*Rant*
I'm over politics and negativity (which I see so much of on Facebook).
I feel like there is just way too much hate going around.  Donald Trump is our president, whether you like him or you don't like him. Sometimes people that we don't agree with get the win. That's kind of the downfall of democracy. Sometimes we are going to feel dissatisfied. That's how it goes. A part of living in a country where your opinion matters is that so does the opinions of other people. And sometimes there are more people with opposing opinions! Then you have to let them have their moment. It's been happening since the beginning of America. We face challenges, try to find solutions, face new challenges and then try new solutions. That's how America evolves and moves forward. Sometimes we even  have to take a step back before we get to move forward. The problem is that it we can't move forward when we are busy bringing each other down, There are are constructive ways to do things and then there is what is happening now. We need to stop.
Republican. Democrat. American.
*End Rant*

On a lighter note,
I have watched Curious George like 900 times. Heidi calls him "The Monkey". She is obsessed.

THIS WEEK
I posted about baby gear and the February Target Beauty Box.

SLEEP
My kids are pretty good sleepers. I don't take that for granted. The problem is that I haven;t been a good sleeper the last few months. Tuesday night was awful. I was awake most of the night. I was so grumpy Wednesday and then Sophie stayed home sick. I just wanted to nap all day.  I need to work my sleep issues out.

  1. Amen to your political thoughts- totally agree. I had to laugh about Curious George because it is always on here and I get sucked in even though I have seen the episodes countless times! Stopping by from Friday favorites- have a great weekend!

    1. Heidi has watched the movie so many times, but I only partly pay attention when it's on. I finally started watching and realized there are all these kind of sad parts to it. I never realized George was alone in jungle and his friends had families! Ever since then I watch. It's gotten deep. :)

  2. I completely agree, I am so over all of the political posts!! As for naps, now that my girls are older (9 & 7.5) I just tell them to go upstairs and have a "rest time" (aka read books and stay in their room for at least a hour) while mommy takes a nap. It is so nice. Have a great weekend! Jessica @ https://lifeloveandreality.com/

    1. It really appeals to kids that age. I try to appreciate that it's not a more annoying show. :)

  4. Political rant--- PREACH! I'm so tired of it too. Yep, Trumps an idiot, but we all have to HOPE he succeeds!

My niece loves George. Thanks for commenting on my post; new follower!

  5. Thank you for pointing out to those too slow to put 2 and 2 together, but the people voted and it's time to support this country. Sigh. It makes me sad to see all the bs surrounding our President. What message does it send to the kid? If you don't like things, just throw a fit?

Anyway, enough of that, lol. Now you've got me thinking I need the Target box, as if I don't subscribe to enough already. Shopping without having to leave home makes me almost as happy as a nap does. :)

  6. Yes - so over the political posts! And we have an obsession with Curious George in the house, too. Although lately it's been more Daniel Tiger...I find myself singing the Daniel Tiger songs when I'm by myself.
And Target has a beauty box? I'm going to have to go check out your post on this. Sounds amazing.

  7. Republican. Democrat. American. This! So much this. I don't understand the negativity and outright hate. We are all humans regardless of our views. I feel like too many people are forgetting that.

  8. Hey Brittney, welcome to our link up and please join us as often or as little as you'd like. I enjoyed reading your post.

I almost feel like copying your rant above. I too am so sick of Facebook and what this election has done to people, friends and family. I've seen such an ugly side of people, it's really sad. I love your outlook on it. It's not the greatest news, let's face it, but he's the god damn president and y'all have to live with that now. Great post on that, seriously.

Sleep was on my list last week, but for different reasons than yours, I've no kids, I just feel like I'm running on empty lately.
Did you have a nice weekend at least?! I hope so. Cheers to a great week ahead hun. :)
